The Albion online team has made a few announcements on its official forum that are worth noting. The major news is that the game is not going to be free anymore after the official launch, as it was supposed to be initially. There are a lot of Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs) out there. While some of these are actually quite interesting, many are just a waste of precious gaming time and Albion Online Items. Games such as Imperia Online and Travian did well in the first few years after their launch and a lot of gamers flocked to them, but after a while they became a drag. Although MMORPG games such as Drakensang Online and Guild Wars are still being played, much of the MMORPG era has been fading. With its latest title, Albion Online, it seems that Sandbox Interactive wants to revive the era once again. Albion Online is going to be a medieval fantasy game with a lot of activity. Apart from the obvious fighting between players, there will be economy and base building, character leveling and a lot of exploration. For now, the game is in its beta testing phase. The testing has been going on for a while now, and according to the post by the development team, it has been extended until August 1, 2016. It seems that the company does not want to take any chances with the game. This could also mean that players currently beta testing are having a good time. Also, the announcement that the game is going to be pay-to-play points toward the success of the beta testing phase with Albion Online Power Leveling. Sandbox Interactive has probably realized that its title is doing pretty well and it can risk making the game a subscription-based one. While this development is going to put a good amount of beta testers off, it will generate decent revenue for the company. The official release date for Albion Online has not been announced yet, but considering the extended testing phases, we can expect early access by the end of 2016.

If you never played Maplestory in its prime, you were missing out on quite the experience. Maplestory offered players a fun and vibrant world. The game never took itself too seriously, and there's something to be said for that. There are so many MMOs and such that try to go down the dark and dreary path when it's obvious that formula just doesn't work. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say half the fun of an MMO is exploring the game world and seeing what all there is to do. If that game world is boring, then you're not going to keep anyone around for any length of time. Look at World of Warcraft, for instance. The game features a cartoon-like art style and frequently throws jokes around with the players. If a new trailer for Maplestory 2 is any indication, N Square - the game's developer - will be looking to provide more of that same feel-good gaming vibe. The trailer looks like an anime of sorts to Buy MapleStory Mesos, but then again, so does the first Maplestory. In fact, this trailer might be a little too 'out there' for our taste, but we have our bets hedged on Maplestory 2. We know that it won't ask too much of the player and that it will keep things lighthearted, which is a lot to ask in today's gaming environment. Too often we forget that video games were made for fun, though their importance in competition and storytelling is very important.

Name Reservation begins January 11, 2016 at 6pm PST for NA servers, and 7pm CET for EU servers. Disciple and Master Founder’s Pack owners will have the opportunity to reserve character names before the game launches. Names are unique within each region—it’s possible for the same name to exist once in NA and once in EU, regardless of server. It will be required to log in at the Name Reservation period using the launch client (linked above), and you will be able to create one (Disciple) or two (Master) characters, choose their server, and reserve their Blade And Soul Gold. It will not be possible to play the game during Name Reservation, and the login will only allow you to create one or two characters, depending on your Founder’s Pack level. Be advised that selecting a name for your character comes after customizing their appearance. Additionally, if you want to recustomize your character’s look at launch you will need to delete your reserved character, and may risk someone else taking your name before you can change your character’s look. However it is possible to purchase a Character Alteration Voucher from the in-game store once Head Start begins, in addition to the ones already offered in the Disciple and Master Packs. The Name Reservation period ends January 14 at 10am PST / 7pm CET for both NA and EU servers. New Character Options New hairstyles, hair color, facial customization options, and additional skintones will be available in the launch client. Head Start All Founder’s Pack owners will be able to access the game more than three full days before the game launch, providing additional time to level and increase their character power before anyone else. Head Start begins January 15 at 10am PST / 7pm CET for both NA and EU servers and will directly transition into launch with no planned downtime. Launch Our launch celebration begins at a live event in Southern California, at the eSports Arena in Santa Ana, where we’ll have limited edition swag, giveaways, contests, game stations, and a livestream counting down to the game’s launch. More details to come, but if you’re looking to attend ensure you’re free the evening of January 18 to help us celebrate! Blade & Soul launches at 12:01am EST, January 19. We do expect that while Head Start will help even out players across a wide range of levels and content before launch, we do anticipate there may be queues to log in for those who don’t have Premium Membership queue priority to Buy BNS Gold, either from the included amount with a Founder’s Pack, or purchased separately. We’ll be closely monitoring server stability and capacity at launch, and will be providing up-to-the-minute service information and updates from @BladeandSoulOps. Founder’s Packs We’ll be continuing to sell Founder’s Packs through Head Start and up to launch on January 19. At launch we’ll begin offering Starter Packs which will provide a different selection of bonuses and benefits for those who missed out on a Founder’s Pack.

Albion Online: Golds Play An Important Role

Gold also plays an indirect role in so called swap transactions, depending on the gold/silver exchange rate in the player-driven market. These work as follows:

For certain in-game expenses, we will be introducing a player market driven swap mechanism that will give discounts on silver prices if there is too much Cheap Albion Online Gold in the game. You will get the discount whether you have gold or not.

The mechanism works in the following way:
Assume that the gold/silver rate set by the game is 100 to 1 (last alpha, it was 10 to 1)

Assume that a certain action such as repairing an item would normally cost you 1.000 silver

Now, if the gold/silver rate in the player market is lower than 100, say it is 80, you will actually get a discount on the repair: instead of paying 1.000 silver, you will only pay 800 silver.

In general, the discount on your silver costs is the same as the percentage that the player driven gold/silver rate trades below the reference rate.

If, on the other hand, the gold/silver rate in the player market is higher than 100, then you will still pay 1.000 silver - you will not have to pay more. So, in a nutshell, if there is too much gold in the world, the silver cost for doing certain activities will decrease.
This is how the mechanism will work from a player point of view. What our system will do “in the background" - but only if the gold/silver rate is smaller than 100 - is the following: it will take the silver you paid. It will use that silver to buy gold from the player market. It will take that gold out of the game. If the gold/silver rate is higher than 100, than nothing special will happen, the expense will simply be taken in silver.

From an economic point of view, what this does is the following: if there is too much gold in the game, everybody will benefit as the silver prices for certain activities will come down. On top of that, if there is too much gold in the game such that the gold/silver ratio is higher than 100, it will act as some one wants to Buy Albion Online Gold, which will help our business model. We believe that this creates a really cool win-win-win situation between us as a developer, people who do not mind spending some money on the game and people who want to play entirely for free.
