“I’m happy with my success, but I was certainly driven by envy and spite for most of my life. Validation is shifty in this business; if you’re not capable of saying, ‘I’m doing a good job,’ how do you determine what it means to be successful? My envy and insecurity pushed other people away. I was preemptively defensive. Opportunities came to others, and I was resentful.
